About the researcher

Dr. Kathryn Loosemore holds a PhD in International Relations from Northumbria University. Dr. Loosemore's work centres on the Basque terrorist group Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA). Her expertise lies in examining the correlation between ETA's activities, material conditions, and public sentiment. She has created a complete database of ETA's victims (deaths, injuries, and kidnappings) that spans their entire lifespan as an organisation (1959-2018). Dr. Loosemore is a Visiting Scholar at Northumbria University, a member of the Swansea University International Advisory Board, and serves on the Board of Trustees at the American University in Bulgaria. She is also a Contributing Editor of Critical Terrorism Studies.
